Celebrating Love: Couples Gather for Valentine’s Day at St. Peter’s Nsambya

“We become what we love, and who we love shapes what we become.” — Saint Clare of Assisi

Valentine’s Day 2026 was marked by joy and reflection as couples came together under the theme “Supporting Each Other in Love” (Ephesians 4:2) at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Nsambya. The event, organized by Holy Cross Family Ministries Uganda, an apostolate of the Congregation of Holy Cross Province of East Africa, offered couples an opportunity to celebrate love grounded in faith.

The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist, celebrated by Rev. Fr. Denis Kaddu, C.S.C., alongside Rev. Fr. John Baptist Nsubuga, C.S.C., Regional Director of Holy Cross Family Ministries, as co-celebrant. The liturgy set a spiritual tone, reminding all attendees that love is not only an emotion but also a sacred vocation that flourishes through patience, understanding, and mutual support.

A particularly inspiring moment of the celebration was the witness of Mr. and Mrs. Nsubuga, who commemorated 50 years of marriage. Their story served as a powerful reminder that true love grows steadily through faith, sacrifice, and perseverance, encouraging couples to cherish and nurture their relationships over time.

Valentine’s Day at St. Peter’s Nsambya was not only a celebration of romantic love but also a testament to the enduring power of faith-centered relationships—a call for couples to support one another in love, always guided by God’s grace.
