On July 16th, 2024, a momentous event took place as eleven young men from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Ghana took a significant step in their spiritual journey by professing their First Vows as members of the Congregation of Holy Cross. This solemn and joyous occasion was marked by a Mass of First Professions, presided over by Rev. Fr. The newly professed brothers from the Province of East Africa included Mr. Owora Mark, C.S.C., Mr. Simon Mutasingwa Speratus, C.S.C., Mr. Collins Isaiah Msasizi, C.S.C., Mr. Andrew Baguma, C.S.C., Mr. James Nzomo Kaloki, C.S.C., Mr. Collins Isaiah Msasizi, C.S.C., Mr. Antony Kanti Mvungi, C.S.C., Mr. Leon Pius Wanambwa, C.S.C., Mr. Placid Rogath Farahan, C.S.C., and Mr. Martin Tuwei Kimutai, C.S.C. The Mass of First Professions was a deeply moving ceremony, filled with prayer, reflection, and the powerful symbolism of the vows taken. The newly professed brothers publicly committed themselves to a life of poverty, chastity, and obedience, pledging to live out these evangelical counsels in service to God and their communities.
