On 9th January 2024, the Province of East Africa, Elected Fr. Peter Caxton Mayanja, C.S.C as the 2nd Provincial. He Succeeds Fr. Cyprian Binaka, C.S.C who led the Province of East Africa from January 8th, 2023, when the province was inaugurated. We pray for blessings and the gift of wisdom on to our new provincial.
In the same spirit, we express deep gratitude to Fr. Cyprian Binaka, CSC, the former Provincial Superior, for his exemplary leadership, we honor his contributions and thank him for guiding our Province with grace.

Biography: Fr. Peter Caxton Mayanja, C.S.C
Fr. Peter Caxton Mayanja, C.S.C, is a dedicated member of the Congregation of Holy Cross Province of East Africa, hailing from Uganda. His journey in religious life began with his First Vows in 2013, marking the commencement of his commitment to the Congregation’s mission and values.
In 2016, Fr. Peter took his Final Vows, solidifying his lifelong dedication to serving the Church and the community. His journey continued as he embraced the responsibilities of priesthood, achieving Ordination in 2017.
During the years 2016 to 2017, Fr. Peter served as Deputy Head Teacher Finance and Administration at St. Joseph’s Hill Secondary School, where he demonstrated both financial acumen and a deep sense of responsibility in managing the school’s resources.
From 2018 to 2022, 2023 he served as a District Steward, showcasing his leadership skills and commitment to the Congregation’s pastoral and social missions. His service extended to a broader scope when he assumed the role of Provincial Steward for a period of one year, contributing to the strategic direction of the Province.
Fr. Peter has been an active participant in the governance structures of the Congregation. He served on both the District Council and the Provincial Council for three years and one year, respectively. His valuable insights and contributions during these council tenures have left a lasting impact on the Congregation’s decision-making processes.
Beyond his administrative and stewardship roles, Fr. Peter is known for his unwavering commitment to the Congregation’s charism, emphasizing education, community service, and spiritual formation.
